SSL Now is a free app that helps MCPS students find Student Service Learning (SSL) volunteer opportunities. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the app works.
Home Address (Optional): If you choose to enter your home address, it is stored locally on your device only. It is used solely to calculate distances to volunteer opportunities. Your address is never sent to any server or shared with anyone.
Saved Opportunities: Your bookmarked opportunities are stored locally on your device only.
Feedback: If you submit feedback through the app, the text you write and the feedback type you select are submitted to a Google Form. No personal information such as your name, email, or device information is included — feedback is completely anonymous.
Settings & Preferences: Your filter order, map app preference, and notification settings are stored locally on your device only.
SSL Now does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
— Your name, email address, or phone number
— Your location (GPS/real-time tracking)
— Usage analytics or tracking data
— Advertising identifiers
— Any data from other apps on your device
Apple MapKit: The app uses Apple's MapKit for address autocomplete. Apple's privacy policy applies to this service.
Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.
Google Forms: Anonymous feedback submissions are sent to Google Forms. Google's privacy policy applies to this service.
SSL Now may send local notifications to remind you about saved volunteer opportunities and to alert you about new opportunities. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers for notifications.
SSL Now is designed for students. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app stores all data locally and collects no personal information, it is safe for users of all ages.
All user data (home address, saved opportunities, preferences) is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. No data is stored on external servers. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
